The Russian junior national team head coach Valery Bragin has named his preliminary roster for the upcoming 2018 World Junior Championship in the USA.

Defensemen: Dmitry Alexeev, Alexander Shepelev (both Chelmet), Grigory Dronov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk), Anatoly Elizarov (Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod), Yegor Zaitsev (Dynamo Moscow), Nikita Makeev (CSKA Moscow), Artyom Maltsev (HC Sochi), Alexander Kalinin (Lokomotiv), Nikolai Knyzhov, Vladislav Syomin (both SKA-Neva).

When the team will be in the USA, players who compete in foreign leagues will join the side. The full roster will be released at a later date.
The team will train in Novogorsk until December 17. Between the 18th and 24th of December, Russia U20 will prepare for the World Junior Championship in Rochester. Two friendly matches are organised against Denmark (December 20) and Slovakia (December 23).
